This PR aims to simplify things by providing an API that can be accessed without using the Scala collection converters

Is this project abandoned? This PR would make possible again to have HTML reports on the gradle-scoverage plugin, but I see no activity for months... 🤔

Will a new version be released soon with this PR? As far as I understood it is necessary to fix scoverage/gradle-scoverage#106
